Elhak Caravansary

Some 20 Km east of Mian-dasht Caravansary, on the main Khorasan Road, there is another caravansary, which locally known as “Elhak”.

Unfortunately, the building has been destroyed during the course of time, and at present, a part of the gateway and vestibule remain.

The monument is nearly square, 50x50 Sq. m, and its portal entrance, which is 5 m wide, is located on the south side.

Although most of the original caravansary has been destroyed, some reconstruction works have been undertaken by the local people. Considering the ruined parts of the stables and gateway, which remain, it can most probably be assumed that the original structure was built on 4-verandas plan.
