The multifarious environmental characteristics and plant life in Kalmand and Bahadoran Basin provide suitable conditions for the existence of various species of wildlife and birds. The most conspicuous of environmentally protected animals in this area are Iranian gazelle, giber and bustard. Among the most important species of wildlife in the region are Iranian deer, giber, elk, goat, ram, ewe, leopard hyena, various kinds of foxes, including the sand fox, wolf and rabbit. Partridge, khaki partridge, bustard, grouse, magpie and many kinds of eagles also dwell in the region. Elk and goat, both of them game mammals, live in Kalmand and Bahadoran regions and in the heights in great multitudes.

The Bahadoran, Chahmountani, Khaleqi, and Madan plains are the most populated deer habitats in the province while the ram, ewe and giber are concentrated in the red-colored hills around the Laqareh River. There are also many kinds of desert reptiles found in the area including tortoises and lizards, and some poisonous snakes such as vipers, rattlesnakes, etc.
