In the final years of Qajar rule, this building was founded by the late "Ali-Akbar Sanati”, then in charge of Kerman orphanage, as a housing and education center of orphans.
“Ali-Akbar Sanatizadeh”, The celebrated Iranian painter, was one of the children trained there, and his works are on display in this orphanage.
A section of building has officially been used as a museum since 1966.
