When photographing birds, make sure the eyes are sharp. Do not have any distracting elements in the background. Make sure that the tale is in the frame (unless it is a portrait).

Well composed and exposed image with beautiful complementary tones and detail. The bird is tack sharp. The maker’s well trained eye has captured this beautiful bird in a very endearing moment.
The background is unfortunately, somewhat distracting from this otherwise wonderful image. A wider aperture and corresponding shutter speed would smooth that out somewhat.

A good sharp image with good color. Background bocca good, but some distracting high key sections. Good focus of the bird and its eye. The branch is very sharp. The white high key branch directly on top of bird distracting.
