Brilliant colour against a dark background makes for a striking image. Good control of highlights, probably by the use of a polarizing filter. Composition is almost symmetrical, which gives the image a static feeling.

There’s no doubt about the subject matter in this photo. The Pumpkins are well lit and cleverly composed. If possible, it is preferable that the top of the stem is included in the image with a bit of space at the top, to complete the image as we see the tops of the individual pumpkins below.

Well composed image---the use of a flash in this photograph has made the colors too bright---this image would have looked better shot in natural light---do not be afraid to dial in more ISO and shoot without a flash---or use a tripod if the exposure is too long to handhold. |
