Beautiful bird and good capture. However, the harsh light isn't helping the image, with the large contrast in the background. Also, there is high contrast on the bird, with the head falling into shadow. The eye would really pop if it were in the light.

Interesting color contrast with red of bird positioned against green background. Focus appears accurate. This side profile of the bird allows for examination.
The image exposure is most difficult to balance with the sun face on the bird. This results in a very high contrast scene which is difficult for the camera to read and accurately capture.
The result is over exposed on the body, and under exposed around the eye. If this is a RAW image, it can be adjusted to tone down the highlights and bring up tome detail in the head area.

Regarding the title, what is ‘neon’ about it?
The focus is on the flamingo, and unfortunately, the blackness of the beak gets lost in the blackness of the background.
The bird is quite sharp, but the background is rather distracting.
This may sound rather negative to you, but I couldn’t find another explanation. |
