Title: Pole

Jurors Scores Critiques
Kerri-Jo Stewart 6 The Oblisk is an interesting subject and looks good but some lights are blown out and there is uncorrected distortion from the wide angle lens.

Richard Shapka 7 At the very edge of good time of day to make this image because some detail remains in sky. Monument stands out as the object of the image. Good depth of field chosen.

The image could be improved with more detail in the pole; the highlights of pole are a little overexposed, and the lights in foreground building are significantly overexposed.

Take a number of exposures at different shutter speeds to lower exposure, or adjust exposure compensation (-2 stops). Then combine exposures in Photoshop. Remove halo on horizon on left side of image.

Satya Danu 7 Regarding the title, why would you call an obelisk a pole? The white light in the foreground building is distracting— Have you thought of cropping most on either side and making a vertical out of it? That would give due attention to the subject. And then whatever part of highlight will be left on the bottom right corner, can then be cloned out.
