Great choice of depth of field for the background, however the eye is not in focus and that is critical for a competition image.
More of a storytelling image about camouflage, ie: predators attacking the "eye" on the wing.

Very nice pattern on the butterfly. Excellent composition.
The insect is not in focus. With the wing and eye on the same plane as the camera lens, the eye needs to be sharp.
The final image appears to an extreme crop with the object of showing the detail. This may work if the eyes or wings of butterfly were in focus.
Even a macro lens will not allow the whole of insect to be in focus but the important eyes and head can be.
