Interesting subject and great image. Would work on lighting to make it into an exceptional image.

The image shows much detail, with all the intricate texture on display. Even though the light used to display texture results in a high contrast scene, the viewer can use the imagination to fill in the deep blacks.
This image could be improved by not using a point source of light, but diffusing it across the object. The eye is drawn to the brightest part of the image and can not find any detail in the dark black shadow.

The lighting in the image is very challenging—very bright in the centre, which loses some of the details in the rock formation. |
