Good capture of interesting cloud pattern, and this is what the camera’s light meter read. This results in the under exposure of the remainder of image. The gull is small and not significant in the overall image.Is it supposed to be? It does not look focused.
To make the image more interesting the image maker could consider a radical crop which makes the bird the center of interest.
