Nice street image, the look of the boy, his clothes and where he is positioned tells a story.
Well exposed. Try cutting about a quarter from the top to bring subject closer to viewer for more impact.

Great snapshot of a moment that tells a story. Would be excellent as part of a documentary.
Removing distracting details that don’t add to that story would help to focus the attention on the main subject.
So ideally, reframing the photo with the boy on the left and more of the dumpster or at least cropping out the space above and behind him would also improve it as a competition image.

The author has caught a good story with this image. The weary look on the boy’s face as he leans on a garbage container is full of emotion.
The leaning pillar behind him is a bit disconcerting, which fits with the story.
Consider cropping in slightly (eliminate the bright areas on the left and a bit off the top) for a stronger image.
The boy’s shoe has been cut off slightly, which is a very minor problem.
