Born in Minneapolis, Massachusetts, USA
Deceased in Massachusetts, USA
Graduated from University of Minnesota in Botanic and English Literature
He tried somehow on poem.

He started his professional photography with a camera, which was a gift of his eighth.
1940 Teaching in "Le Grande Art Center" in the West of Oregon
1941 First Exhibition "Image of Freedom" in New York Modern Art Museum
1945 Columbia University, researching on "History of Art"
1952 Founded "Aperture", quarterly magazine, with a group
1953 to 1961, organized some important photography exhibitions
1954 Teaching in "California Fine Arts School"
1955 to 1963, teaching in "Rochester Institute of Technology" (RIT)
1965 Honorary Professor in "Massachusetts Institute of Technology" (MIT)
