Stained Glass Painting in Iran and Worldwide

It is, perhaps, difficult to discuss the art of glass painting, due to its short life span in the past, unknown artists, fragility of glass and the scantiness of source materials.

However, this article attempts to briefly review the course of development of this fine, but neglected, art that is part of the naive folk art in the world.

This art can be traced to varios countries, such as Romania, the United States, Senegal, Italy and Hungary.

This article reviews the history of the discovery of glass in Iran and other countries, followed by the course of development of glass painting, introducing the masters of this art and the techniques, used in Iran and the world.
