- 1846: January, Marx and Engels set up a Communist Correspondence Committee in Brussels, whose aim is to unite advanced participants in working-class and socialist movements of various countries ideologically and organizationally. August 15, on the instructions of Brussels Communist Correspondence Committee, Engels moves to Paris to establish closer links with French socialists and communists and to prevail on them to take part in correspondence committees and also to help Paris communities to overcome the influence of "true socialists". Autumn, at meeting of German workers in Paris, Engels propagates communist ideas and criticizes Proudhon's petty-bourgeois utopias and Karl Grun's "true socialism". As a result of Engel's efforts, most members of League of Just Paris communities departed from "true socialism" and Proudhonism. - 1847: January to April, Engels writes an article "True Socialists", which becomes part of "German Ideology". January, London Committee of the League of Just sends its representative, Joseph Moll, to Marx in Brussels and to Engels in Paris to invite them to join League, take part in its reorganization and in drawing up its program. Marx and Engels become members of the League. June 2, the First Congress of the League of Just opens in London and becomes the in augural congress of Communist League. Engels takes an active part in the work of congress; he helps to draw up the new rules to be approved in the next congress. July, Marx' "Poverty of Philosophy", answer to "Philosophy of Poverty" by M. Proudhon appears in Brussels in French. Engels visits Marx in Brussels. August, Marx and Engels set up a German Worker's Society in Brussels. September to February 1848, Marx and Engels regularly contribute to Deutsche-Brusseler Zeitung"." September 27, Engels takes part in the international banquet of democrats in Brussels, which decides to establish "Democratic Association". October, Engels returns to Paris. November, on the instruction of Paris Circle Committee of Communist League, Engels works on "Principles of Communism", League's draft program. Marx and Engels take an active part in the work of Second Congress of Communist League in London. Congress approves League's Rules and instructs Marx and Engels to draw up its program. Marx and Engels speak in international meeting of German Workers' Educational Society in London on economic questions. December, Engels leaves London for Brussels.
