March 1-10, Socialist deputies of the parliaments of Germany, France and England, Bebel, Lafargue and Burns, meet at Engels'; Engels sees this as proof of a tremendous advancement of international working-class movement.

April, Engels writes letters greeting French, Austrian and Spanish workers on May Day. He emphasizes the importance of this holiday for international unity of proletariat.

May 7, Engels takes part in May Day demonstration in London.

July 29, Engels draws up a will; he leaves some of his property and his library to Social-Democratic Party of Germany, and the most of his assets to Marx' daughters and grandchildren.

Aug. 1 to Sept. 29, Engels tours German, Switzerland and Austria-Hungary.

August 12, Engels attends the last sitting of International Socialist Labor Congress in Zurich, makes a speech in English, French and German; he closes the sitting, on instructions of Congress Bureau.

Sept. 14, Engels speaks in Social-Democratic meeting in Vienna.

Sepy. 22, Engels speaks in Social-Democratic meeting in Berlin, arranged on the occasion of his arrival in Germany.


1894:
early December, volume 3 of Marx' "Capital" is published, prepared for printer by Engels, who also writes the preface.


1895:
Feb. 14 to March 6, Engels writes an introduction to the separate edition of Marx' "Class Struggles in France, 1848 to 1850".

June 15 to July 24, Engels undergoes medical treatment in Eastbourne, where he is visited by Eleanor Marx-Aveling, Laura Lafargue, Edward Aveling, Victor Adler and others.

August 5, Frederick Engels deceased.

August 27, in compliance with Engels' will, the urn with his ashes is consigned to sea at Eastbourne.
