Art and Symbol: The Tree

There are many phenomena that lie beyond humans' comprehension. Consequently, humans appeal to symbols, in order to express concepts that are beyond their comprehension.

The tree has been a basic symbol, whose collective, universal spirit has unified humans around a common axis. It still occupies a place of significance in our universe that is still a pictorial universe.

The most ancient symbolic meaning of the tree is the secret of the universe and the creation of the world. In all cultures, the tree refers to the tree of life, evergreen tree, always bearing fruit and immorality.
