Mitra Jashni
Painter
The Netherlands

I was born in Iran, December 1976. I got my degree, Master in Painting & Art, from University of Sooreh, Tehran in 2008. As I arrived in to the world of art, I understood the distance between me, myself and the women, who were born in other meridians. My culture has created a distance between me, men of my society and all women of the world. The characters of my paintings basically don’t have any sexuality; they are frightened women, who wear mask on their faces to relate with the outside world. My colored girls have modesty and shame, they do not know anything about their maturity, and the opposite gender is the giant that should be discovered.
My colors became a poem and I became a writer too; you can also read my words in my paintings…
