He has received many prizes from different competitions:
1978: Poster Competition on the 80th birthday of Bertolt Brecht, East Germany
1985: New Designers at JAGDA
1990: Gold Prize at the 13th International Poster Biennale, Poland, Warsaw
1993: ADC Prize in Tokyo Art Directors Club
1995: 26th Kodansha Book Design Prize
1995: Silver Prize for "Hidden Japan Collection", and Merit Award for the catalogue of "Patterns and Colors of Joy", in the Art Directors Club 9th International Annual Exhibition, New York
He has had many exhibitions. "Hidden Japan Collection" has been exhibited in US, Canada, France, Malaysia, Vietnam, New Zealand, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and Iran, until 2003.
