It is a region near Kashan. Rugs of this region are known as the same name.
The particularity of this region rugs is its piles, in which is produced by inhabitants by hand. As they use a mix of piles, the quality of carpets are not fair.
These rugs are woven densely with double weft; one is thick, cotton and hidden among the warps and the other is thinner in blue, which is seen at the back of rugs.
The old Aran pattern was Corner Medallion in brownish red ground, with medallion and margins in dark blue.
Today (2000), patterns common in Aran and Bidgol are urban designs of Kashan.
