Knife has a sharp edge to cut pile yarn after each knot. It consists of blade and haft and has some 20 cm. of length.
Special knife for symmetrical weave, called "Hook", is used in Khorasan and Turkish regions and has a hook at the end, with a wooden or metallic handle
This knife is straight in some regions and bowie-shaped with wide blade in other places. The latter is called "Paki", used for hammering and pulling forward roots in addition to cutting piles.
